The history of Farchant
One does not see the long past in our 3,900-inhabitant village. Farchant surpasses many a well-known city in terms of centuries, including the Bavarian state capital Munich by half a century.

Anyone who has ever been to one of our forest festivals knows that customs are still very active in Farchant. Starting with the traditional brass music, through the Schuhplattln dances to Fingerhakeln competitions or Goaßlschnalzen (whiping).
Pasture farming is still a very important economic sector for Farchant.
